Muir Woods National Monument Day Hike

So I have a thing for lush green forests. Maybe it's because I was raised in essentially a high desert, or maybe I just love trees in general, not too sure, but whenever I am asked where would my ideal living environment be like, it's hard to imagine anything without some pines and blue sky.

Pretty impressive that they actually held an international peace conference here. This would never happen today, but then again, we've never had a president quite like Roosevelt. Like all of our leaders, I'm sure he has his closeted skeletons, but things like this continue to make him one of my favorite presidents.

Afterwards we went over to Blue Bottle in Oakland for our first cupping experience. Cupping is basically the coffee version of wine tasting and it was interesting to learn about the various types of processing techniques as well as factors that roasters take into account when choosing their beans.
Some say society is becoming addicted to caffeine, and while that may or may not be true (I agree with the statement), like beer, I genuinely enjoy the taste of coffee. And yes, I prefer my drips black. :P
